Religulous, now in limited release, exceeded my expectations.
The sentiment is nothing new, but credit to Bill Maher for presenting an incredibly rational, blunt expose in a sea of irrationality fraught with emotion.
It's not an atheist manifesto. It's the most compelling argument for agnosticism I've ever heard.
And truth be told... I'm sold.

Case in point? The Lion King in 5 seconds:
I saw Revenge of the Sith in 5 seconds a few weeks back, but I didn't realize the guy made 70+ of them. And while TLK is probably my favorite, they're all quality work.
See also: Lord of the Rings, Dead Man's Chest, Willy Wonka, and the rest.

Just returned from a visit to the Bay Area to check out Alcatraz. It was good, though as with many such landmarks, smaller than I expected it to be.
But the highlight of the trip had to be a impromptu trip to the Metreon (the best theater in San Francisco, and the only really good thing about the otherwise lackluster Metreon complex) to see, what else but, Snakes on a Plane! (Ironic, since first learning of the film in Wired several months back, I concluded that there was no way in hell someone could force me to sit through it...) What made it great though was that the audience in our theater was totally into it, cheering Samuel's ridiculous dialogue and hissing when snakes were called for (among other things), easily making it one of my most enjoyable theater-going experiences ever; I had a blast.
Film critic Eric Snider nailed it when he dubbed the film, "a really, really enjoyable bad movie."

Just to prove that I am in fact still alive (in some sense of the word), here are a few summaries of movies I've seen in the past month or so, chronologically by date, in 4 words or less.
Anyway, things are going alright. Job at Safeway is getting slightly better, in terms of the fact that they're actually scheduling properly now. Time goes by slow at work... but I've discovered, as long as you make yourself busy, no one ever gets on your case. So, when you're assigned to some task, the key is simply to take your sweet time.
Another interesting observation (to me, anyway), is that most of the employees (like, I suppose, the other two retail joints I've worked at) don't actually live in the area.
School is going alright. I fear that I'm getting a little complacent though... had a pop quiz in accounting that did not go off well at all. So, I'm working to get myself back in gear, and fast. Not too concerned yet though.
Also tried picking up the guitar recently... and I failed. I can't hold the strings down on the frets without experiencing extreme pain on the tip of my index figure after semi-prolonged use. But whatever... also started picking up the flute and the keyboard again, and then looking at CSS books and Flash tutorials... and yes, basically spreading myself too thin and accomplishing nothing. So, I still have some things to work out, but I'm taking steps to getting focused again...
Oh, and also, remember to renew the dragaroo.net domain for another 2-3 years before the 30th. $2/yr domains via GoDaddy.com is a killer deal, considering I paid upwards of $35/yr several years ago...
Only two pieces of techie news today: Google Blog Search came out recently and it works just swell. So, if you ever want to dig up an incriminating word I posted in this mess, or in anyone else's, for the matter, that's the place to look.
Also, for the technically minded, these tutorials over at Lynda.com are very, very cool. I definately plan on using a few.
Right, well, that's all for now. Make sure and glance over the entry below. Good karma, ya know.
